I built a new FreeBSD 9.0 with the experimental driver submitted by you. I installed on R720 and things are working fine for me. I have not testing it yet.
I have those servers(R720/R620) in labs but it is not open to outside world.
We need some volunteer to provide access to Yongari so that...
Yongari,
Oh..I was little late to respond to you. I have understood that I need to make it to RELENG_9 (STABLE) through my CVSUP. I have started with the upgrading. Will let you know the result.
Yongari,
I am using the RELEASE version of FreeBSD (I wonder if that will matter?).
freebsd9_0# uname -arn
FreeBSD freebsd9_0 9.0-RELEASE FreeBSD 9.0-RELEASE #0: Tue Jan 3 07:46:30 UTC 2012
root@farrell.cse.buffalo.edu:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC amd64
Where can I download stable...
Thanks for sharing the experimental driver even when you are busy with your job.
May I know the expected time you gonna finish up with stable driver?
I always enjoy playing around FreeBSD but unable to get my NIC work and this has really made me stuck.
Please help me with the fix soon.I...
Yongari,
I request you to help us with the driver and speed up your testing as I have no other option than Broadcom NIC. Hope you will understand and thanks a lot for the heads-up!
Sorry if I am just being curious, can I download the patch and test it from my end too?
I have created a custom freeBSD FreeBSD 9.0 ISO files and they are placed under /usr/obj/usr/src/release folder as shown below:
freebsd9_0# pwd
/usr/obj/usr/src/release
freebsd9_0# ls
MANIFEST dist kernel.txz ports.txz system
base.txz doc.txz...
Thanks Peetaur for the quick response.
This is what I did until now(below). Suggest if this looks Ok.
Preparing the Local Repository:
mkdir -p /usr/local/etc/cvsup
cp /usr/share/examples/cvsup/cvs-supfile /usr/local/etc/cvsup/ncvs
Edit the file:
*default host=cvsup10.us.freebsd.org...
RodPholus,
Can you help me building FreeBSD 9.0 custom ISO which will include the mfi driver (which you provided for LSI MegaRAID SAS 9240)? I am following this link http://wiki.idefix.fechner.net/index.php/FreeBSD-Build_Own_CD but dont know if that is valid for 9.0 RELEASE.
Guys,
I am following http://wiki.idefix.fechner.net/index.php/FreeBSD-Build_Own_CD for building a custom FreeBSD 9.0 Final Release for including custom-mfi driver. Will that link work? Please suggest.
Thanks for the above link.
I am following http://wiki.idefix.fechner.net/index.php/FreeBSD-Build_Own_CD completely.
On one of the step it says
Then apply your changes to /usr/src (kernel config files, patches everything you need).
Is that talking about /usr/src/sys/amd64/conf/GENERIC kernel...
Peetaur,
Can you help me with actual steps (as you have been successful with your setup) for inserting mfi_freebsd90_x64_rbm.tgz (attached with this thread http://forums.freebsd.org/showthread.php?p=174683#post174683)?
I can see lots of links but I need the actual step for inserting this...
When did you insert the mfi module? I don't see any step talking about it. Please suggest. All I want to build is FreeBSD 9.0 with customized mfi driver.
What about LSI MegaRAID SAS 9265 card? I am unable to get this work?
Do you have driver for that? This mfi driver which worked for 9240 is not working for 9265.
Please suggest.
