I only see the single available url for fetching the distfile so I don't see how you can get around that other than saving the file elsewhere after downloading it the first time for future use.
If you want to use synth, I would advise disabling the official pkg repository by following the instructions in /etc/pkg/FreeBSD.conf then rebuilding all installed packages using it. IIRC, while supported, I think it was kpa that mentioned recently using multiple pkg repositories concurrently...
Just tested it out. Seems to work as suggested. Thanks!
On a tangential note, is there any future possibility for adding some flags(overrides) for the build commands such as concurrent builders and max jobs? Certainly not a necessity but would be a convenience for a user that wanted to change...
Nothing wrong with Python, and that's what was recommended I start out with as well which I think is the standard recommendation but I just didn't find it interesting. Same with Lua. It may just may be the material I was using to learn, similar to what forquare mentioned above. I don't know. It...
Feedly looks nice but unfortunately it's web-based or a mobile app only and I like to keep my preferences away from marketers whenever possible. Just personal preference. :)
andyh2451, I've marked the thread solved but you can do that yourself in the future as well by clicking on "Thread Tools" then "Edit Thread" at the top right of the page while viewing the thread. :)
Ok, thanks.
FWIW, I just finished building java/openjdk8 on CURRENT with synth and had no obvious issues on my machine, at least not that I noticed thus far. It's still got 400+ ports to go however.
Hi.
First, thanks for this and the work you put into it. It definitely seems like a large improvement on ports-mgmt/portmaster so far.
One question, is there a reason synth doesn't nullfs? mount the /usr/lib32 directory as well? At least on my machines running 11-CURRENT and 10.2-STABLE this...
So in attempting to learn how to code, I first tried with Lua. It didn't seem too difficult to me but to be honest, it bored me to death and I quickly lost interest. I then looked at Python and ended up bored as well. I picked up a book on C++ a few years ago when I thought about learning and...
All supported Intel and AMD based graphics should be detected automatically by Xorg and usually can auto-configure graphics. Nvidia is the exception and needs a configuration file created to load the driver as per the thread linked above. In most cases, which seems to also be the case here...
Why are you using dedup? It's the wrong thing to do 98% of the time. Only a very specific use cases will benefit from it and it uses an enormous amount of RAM.
Did you mean to write Nvidia Quadro FX 4700? I have never heard of a Quadro TX series Nvidia card and don't see any documentation anywhere mentioning a model with that name. It could just be an OEM specific model card I've never heard of as well. If it is indeed a Quadro FX 4700, it needs the...
