BSD Installation: An Outdated Mess That Nobody Wants to Fix

I apologize to everyone, but I was very angry when the system crashed.

What actually happened was that I was trying to install FreeBSD alongside Windows and Linux. While partitioning the disk manually by entering commands in the terminal, something went wrong and the entire system crashed. As a result, I had to reinstall the whole system from scratch.

I was extremely frustrated at the time, and out of anger, I wrote a harsh criticism of FreeBSD and its developers, hoping that it might somehow contribute to improving the situation or lead to changes in the future.

Looking back, I realize that I was reacting emotionally. I apologize if my words were unnecessarily harsh or disrespectful.

When we continue to have an off-topic dicussion here, there will be others answering the original OP, and the content of this "search engine" topic (which I like to follow very much) was lost, because this is the wrong thread.

I do see emotional venting in lots of threads on these Forums. Yeah, it's often mixed with technical info and requests for help.

I frankly like it that way. Makes me realize that there are real people behind these posts, with their own levels of knowledge, emotional reactions to mistakes, attitudes that can make or break a technical adventure for them, and the like. I've seen users waltz in and expect to place an order for programming services. I've seen users demanding help on really harebrained and half-baked ideas (and level-headed, knowledgeable users talking such people out of these stupid ideas).

When someone makes a post, I'd rather read it myself, and read other people's reactions to it. I like watching how someone's online behavior changes (or doesn't) in response to those reactions. I really would not want to outsource that thinking and analysis to an AI reader.

Even if one has no appetite for thinking/analyzing/reacting any more, I think it's better to take the time needed to stimulate that appetite than outsource yet another unpleasant chore to an AI.

I'd rather have reactions from real people than ChatGPT.
