Don't yet know what the cause was though.
It was on the bug report.2 days+ and the host seemed down, no communication
kind of embarrassing
All I know at the moment is that the host itself was down. We have ssh access to it but that wasn't accessible either.Did no one know for days? Was it catastrophic failure somewhere?
i know but it provided no useful informationIt was on the bug report.

This is a perfect base for all sorts of conspiracy theories.Don't yet know what the cause was though. But us admins couldn't even access the host itself. So there wasn't much we could do to fix things.
It was down for a lot longer than a day. It went down some time Sunday afternoon and only got back up a few minutes ago.

Well if one believes the Weather channel there was a significant winter storm that rolled through that area a few days ago. It was a mix of wet snow, rain, sleet, high winds, so I can imagine power outages and connectivity down for a bit. If the hosting service has backup power but physical wires into/out of the building are down, "you can't get there from here".the host seems to be in NC, USA
There's no indication this was caused by a breach of any kind. The host was down, that's all.Was there a database breach?
We will try to provide them if/when we can.I demand answers.
Do you not do that on a weekly basis anyway? ?Do we need to change our passwords?
Do we need to change our passwords?
*Checks notes*Do you not do that on a weekly basis anyway?
Also note that you can enable 2FA on your forum account.People say that this isn't useful and actually worsens the password situation.
Also note that you can enable 2FA on your forum account.
It's mandatory for moderators and admins. But I just wanted to let everyone else know it's an option you can use.Is that really necessary?
you can enable 2FA on your forum account.
Your being both an admin and a moderator (and staff), shouldn't you enable 3FA or even 4FA?It's mandatory for moderators and admins. But I just wanted to let everyone else know it's an option you can use.
