So is this a dog of a commonly assumed dangerous breed? How big?

Many big European cities enacted policies to control ownership of such dogs. There were too many widely published incidents (including toddler deaths) in the last 15 years and the voters spoke, with the politicians following. I know Germany has it in many of the bigger cities where some dog owners owned "Kampfhunde".

Guys, why were my replies deleted under this topic? Is there someone here assigned by European feudal rulers to remove posts? Hi, friend, you not only have to worry about your dog being violently slaughtered by feudal lords, but you also need to watch out for your own safety. Lawyers are just tools for feudal rulers to make money, and you still trust them... Wake up, friend.
SirDice ,Alain De Vos .

Lets try to stay polite and friendly.
Mister you make a good point.
I dont want to violate guidance rules. But about feelings I can talk. I feel somethings wrong in "our society".

What would you think? According to the edit history of one of these posts you know pretty well why.

This isn't promoting violence or hatred; I just want to tell that friend who abandoned their dog to pay attention to the seriousness of the problem and personal safety. FreeBSD is just built on top of human computing power. The issue of that friend abandoning their dog can appear on forums, so why do I get your opposition when I tell him about the real situation in Europe?

Simple. First, I don't think he abandoned his dog. Maybe your translation software is making things up, but I find it highly unlikely that he did that.
Second, whatever you wrote about the "real situation in Europe" is uninformed at best and a blatant lie at worst. What is it? I told you to read up on this, and you immediately changed your post, then changed it back, then it got deleted. So I think you know full well that there is something wrong with what you wrote. Or did you not?

I will be sincere: this story does not make sense. But sometime, reality is more incredible than fiction.

I can imagine some false complaint, and some negligent policemen acting like the complaints were for sure true. They didn't investigated. They acted quickly and firmly, "scared" from past experiences with angry and prone to escalation dog owners. This is my pure imagination. But, I'm trying to give a sense to this story.

A good thing about USA Police are mandatory body-cams. A not trustworthy policemen can write a lot of discretionary or also false things in their reports, and at least in my country, it happened. But with a body-cam, it is 100x times more difficult. The dog reaction would be filmed. If Alain De Vos was collaborative, but still they didn't gave him enough clarifications, would be evident from the video. But without a video, they can justify their actions in many ways.

Alain De Vos : my 2cents, if you keep calm, follow the procedure, according the suggestion of some lawyer or association, probably it will be resolved. There is no reason for why a loved dog, and a good-enough man had to be separated. If this happens, then we live in a mad society. Retrieve photo and video with you and your dog, if you have some of them. If they let to encounter again your dog, in a protected structure, film his reaction. Keep calm, and good luck! It is not rocket science deciding if a dog loves his owner or not.

As Alain De Vos says, labs tend to be extremely friendly, and again it would help if we knew what was behind it. Did he jump on a child and a parent over-react? It does seem as if you will need a lawyer, regardless of the cause. Regardless of what one things of lawyers, sometimes they are necessary. Unless (again, without really knowing circumstances, we can only speculate), there are other official channels you can follow. Perhaps what Zare suggested and take it to the media.

Well... another way to go is....

Move to the country ! Maybe you will find out that you are royalty and and have inherited great lands ! Then your dog(s) can all roam free without any trouble. You going to need a Title :-/

Cities do have "a lot of rules" so living somewhere "with out a lot of rules" can be helpful.

I've lived in places where they tell me "the exact color I have to paint my house", how many trees (if any?) I can plant, if I am allowed to have a fence, (and if I can have a fence) -- what type, color, dimensions, etc the fence has to be, if I am allowed to own a dog or cat (or a Llama?) how many, what types, etc. In States these are called HOAs -- or "Home Owners Associations". The HOA can even fine you when your property isn't up to community "standard".

Sorry this happened to you - Good luck ! and I hope you eventually get the dog back.

Labradors are usually very calm and unaggressive animals, I've never heard of one biting anyone. Lovely dogs, here they are used as guide dogs for the blind, because of their calm and peaceful temperatment. :-)

European feudalism ended in the 15th century. Of the 44 European countries, only 7 still have a monarchy [*]. And those are all constitutional monarchies. My country for example the King only has a ceremonial function, nothing more. So no, the King doesn't "own" me, or my pets, or anything else for that matter.

[*] 7 actual Kingdoms (Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom). There are also 3 principalities (Andorra, Liechtenstein, and Monaco) and 1 grand duchy (Luxemburg). And last but not least, one elected monarchy (Vatican city).
