and let's not forget how/why git was originally created...and support for windows was nowhere on the radar, nor should it have been.

LOL, I still don't really get what the point is of using Rust for this particular use when so many platforms that people use don't have a working compiler.

People said the same thing about Xlibre. Considering that this has only been a few days, I wouldn't necessarily assume that there won't be a Windows version at some point.

who cares about an advertising platform that always has been intentionally the most developer-hostile environment? If someone chooses to suffer with that junk, it's on them how to get basic tools working.

Nowadays it doesn't really matter if Git supports Windows, because every Windows comes shipped with WSL.
