Is there any way to download my own content?
It might stop me asking the same questions over and over
It is a legitimate desire for having a local copy of text published anywhere. And it is a good idea not using internet search machines or AI for searching one's own texts. That's one thing, but the other is one's own process of learning, which is more important. Learning does happen when not giving in to convenience.
I remember when I started asking for help in forums decades ago, I often found the solution to my problem myself shortly after clicking “Send” or after waking up the next morning.
I realized that describing the problem in such detail that others could understand it (a prerequisite for getting good answers) enabled and facilitated me to find the solution myself. For example, quoting from man pages or other sources. While doing this, our brain searches for the required solution and comes up with “ideas.”
Many people have found that they simply forget the solutions they have found. Just as you no longer understand your own code after a few weeks if you haven't documented it sufficiently.
This is perfectly normal because, fortunately, some problems occur rather rarely and therefore the repetition necessary for learning does not take place or takes place too rarely.
So what to do? I started writing down my problems and enriching them with information I found. This method turned out to be less time-consuming than writing posts on specialist forums and then having to deal with unhelpful answers.
After a few weeks, I felt the need to structure my collection of written problem solutions so that I could find and add to them quickly. I discovered that wikis are very well suited for this purpose. I tried out a few wikis and quickly found one that met my needs. The great thing is that I can add topics with relevant details and links to my wiki, including things that I think might be interesting to me in the future.
I have taken the time to describe this in detail especially for you
balanga . My advice to you is not to wait for someone to create a download function for posts. Write your post in your local editor and save your text locally before posting, then you won't have to download it. Once you get used to it, which may take a while to break old habits, you will soon find a solution that suits you personally and that you will be happy with.
And one last thing: giving in to convenience makes learning more difficult. Learning takes time and repetition.
Learn how to learn!
