ever gotten the output of a PostScript program that you wrote tattooed onto you? :)

Code:
0.05 setlinewidth 2 setlinecap 2 setmiterlimit 0 setgray
3600 127 div dup scale 3 1 translate
newpath 0 0 moveto
16 -1 1 {
dup dup 1 sub xor 1 add and 0 eq
    {90}{-90}ifelse rotate 0 1 rlineto
} for stroke showpage

we've got several already, the classic-mac Reset and Interrupt switch symbols on our arms and a SCSI diamond on our lower back :)

eventually we'll put something written in LaTeX on us too.

i don't understand the question
atax1a at the very least, you can proofread your own artwork before committing. Tattoo fans are very aware of the "no ragrets" meme.
yeah, we crosschecked the render (it's the Dragon Curve fractal at order 4) against various sources, including Jurassic Park, where we first encountered it. also the tattooist lays down a temporary stencil first, the first placement we tried was wrong.

Oh, and at OP, you do you. I wouldn't do it, for many reasons, but that is me.

tbh after years of transgender hormone replacement therapy, a little bit of ink seems almost trite

Something about the skin in that photo doesn't look real. Like it's coated in plastic or something. And the 'tattoo' looks like it's been drawn on with a marker pen. Very strange-looking skin. Is the OP some kind of shape-shifting grey alien? Though I guess the couple of freckles and a few hairs on the right hand edge look real-ish. But what's with the skin surface?

it's been bandaged with a Tegaderm bandage so as to seal it against infections, which is why it's shiny and wrinkly. and yes, they look a little weird for the first few days of healing.

can neither confirm or deny accusations of being a shape-shifting alien though.

And our local hospital has a MRT machine (7T) that will happily turn some types of ink into second or third degree burns. That's another reason why I won't risk getting inked.
yeah, we also saw that episode of House, MD. ;)

7T is a very strong field... that must be one of the latest high resolution machines. It's a damn good job that gold isn't ferromagnetic.

Believe me, seeing that first hand tops it. When you can tell from the shape of the blister what the picture was...
tbh if we have to get an MRI without being conscious enough to be able to tell them of our medical history we've got bigger things to worry about than skin burns. (there is an undocumented piece of magnetic material in our left hand)

bigger things to worry about than skin burns.
TheRegister has an xray of some Id=10t going to such an appointment having an "all silicon" toy where the sun don't shine. Turned out to have a steel core. Now THAT will ruin your day.
