E-book viewer from calibre not working

Hi, E book viewer from deskutils/calibre 8.5.0 isn't showing anything when the main window popup. When calling ebook-viewer from the command line here's what the output:

nothing useful.
 
Not that this is a real answer, but I'm able to read ebooks with zathura. (I have zathura and zathura-pdf-mupdf installed). It lacks many of calibre's features but it makes reading epub and pdf books quite easy to do.
 
Thanks. I had recently re-entered it without checking as --gpu-disable. [ the browser redraws noticeably slow with it entered as it should. ] Some nvidia cards are being made obsolete?
