Solved Customize SDDM without KDE installed

I like SDDM for a login session manager, but I prefer to use XFCE as my DE. I'd like to play around with some of the themes and customizations of SDDM, but the only graphical tool, deskutils/plasma5-sddm-kcm/ is specifically a KDE plugin so I don't think it will work with XFCE. The manual methods of configuration point to sddm.conf file, which does not appear to exist on my system. Does anyone know if there is a location I should manually create a sddm.conf file, or if the KDE plugin can work with XFCE?

The most obvious location would be /usr/local/etc/, but that's just an educated guess, it's certainly worth a try.

Within /usr/local/etc/sddm.conf in the [Theme] section, change the Current theme to be one within /usr/local/share/sddm/themes, or else copy one of these and mess around with it till you get it how you like it.
