My understanding is that ZFS stores all filenames unmodified, and normalization only applies at comparison time. Therefore, if I can ensure that all my filenames are unique under both the current normalization algo and the one I want to change it to, shouldn't I be allowed to do so? I have a pool that's rather full and I have nowhere to temporarily store the data, so destroying and recreating all filesystems isn't really feasible.
