Solved FreeBSD 10.1 amd64 vmdk & ZFS

I successfully managed to download the FreeBSD 10.1 amd64 vmdk, boot it, get the DHCP working, and sshd so that I can ssh to it. Now I'd like to experiment with the ZFS cloning / snapshot mechanism. I noticed that the vmdk does not come with ZFS installed. What are the steps to add a new VMware Workstation virtual drive and then configure it for ZFS?

Thanks!

After adding the new 10GB virtual drive and booting then I used these commands to list the new and unused drive: camcontrol devlist and geom disk list. I could then follow the instructions in the link but use /dev/da1 where /dev/da0 was mentioned.
