I made bigger skip from 11.1-RELEASE to 12.2-RELEASE (clean install, not upgrade). I noticed that high disk I/O activity is visible in Xorg + x11-wm/e16. The problem is reproducible in VirtualBox on various PCs and OS with default installation of 12.2-RELEASE, Auto ZFS or Auto UFS, 1 GiB RAM for the guest. Installed packages after installing the OS were
I tried also x11-wm/icewm. It's not as visible as in E16, but problem is still exists. Any movement, iconifying, shading, etc. cause abnormal HDD write activity. x11-wm/fluxbox seems to be without these problem. I also tried this to reproduce it in 11.4-RELEASE and in fully updated 12.2-RELEASE-p4. The same problems appeared.
I've never seen any similar problem in previous releases of FreeBSD.
Does anyone have any idea the problem might be?
