ZFS ZFS cache problem causing data loss

Is this mitigated? Can this cause data loss? Should we not use ZFS for now until this is fixed? Thanks.

Maybe a file system or ZFS specialist?

Lots of people use ZFS so I would imagine this would be causing a lot more “noise”.

There have been at least two ZFS issues this year that have been resolved.

I think you need to provide a lot more information and sources.

Holy misleading thread title, batman.

The double buffering in the case of mmap seems to be properly implemented and "only" be a problem for some performance situations. It still is that way in FreeBSD and Linux (but not Solaris).

I think this should have been titled “zfs cache design not optimal in all cases.” Consider retitling it as it is currently misleading (as cracauer@ mentioned above).

But that's what it sounded like from what I read. And replies here confirm this hasn't been fixed, and I still don't know when exactly this causes data loss, as one poster commented here.
