personal blog platform recommendation

If Hugo purports to be a good platform for creating a web site, it should write proper HTML to begin with and not put that load on the user. It makes me question how well they actually understand HTML which makes me wonder how well they understand the more difficult parts of site creation and the internet.

My company never had errors on the sites we produced; both in HTML and CSS. I wouldn't expect Hugo to have 96 on their front page.

For those who like these, here is a list of statics site generators, you can filter them by licenses, languages.

Let's not forget www/manpageblog which gives the look of a manpage to a blog, funny to look at.

And also bssg which is described as "a simple static site generator written in Bash".

I would like to add that one can host his content for free on forges like GitHub, Gitlab, or Codeberg, they all serve "pages".

I know people are really down on AI and I can see that. But this is a question you could literally dump into any AI prompt and get excellent suggestions (especially if you add whether you're willing to pay or not). Gemini and Copilot give plenty to work with.
Now this is a surprising answer, especially considering the author.

An AI does give a more immediate answer, true. But doesn't that kind of defeat the very purpose of the Forums (posting FreeBSD-related questions and getting relevant help) ?

Searching the Forums with help of an AI is one thing, and it's probably more powerful than XenForo's built-in search feature. In fact, someone here (NapoleonWils0n ) has pulled off something like that.

But when it comes to recommendations, I think it's just mentally easier to take a recommendation seriously if it comes from someone in the more immediate "social circle" (i.e., FreeBSD Forums users), rather than an AI. Especially when an AI could recommend something that's actually NOT in the Ports Collection. A human Forums user is less prone to that.
