Music…

See here :

After a full three minutes of enjoyment I wondered why one side was slightly louder than the other. Shifted my headphones to one side, realised that my hearing aid was switched off.

Headphones back in place, I began listening to the next track. Wondered why one side was slightly louder than the other. Rocket science: the other hearing aid was still switched off.

What is wrong with me? I blame it on the overexcitement caused by audio working as expected ;-)

Something in the air...

… and you know that it's right …

I generally find one of the stereo test tracks useful when I'm setting up audio, like this; there are lots of similar ones on the web. This helped me get true stereo working with bluetooth too (so far only on linux, I couldn't get it to work on freebsd sadly, although there were rumours of someone working on a new bt stack for bsd a couple of years ago...)

It's a little-known fact that Tubby trained as an electronics engineer before becoming a musician, and he built his own amplifiers, studio equipment, sound system etc. Singer Mikey Dread stated, "King Tubby truly understood sound in a scientific sense. He knew how the circuits worked and what the electrons did. That's why he could do what he did". Yep..., he was a techie :)
