firefox is not unix, it is something horrible

As I said, I just used firefox to connect to the local webUI of SELKS (cirrus). Yesterday, I checked anew this behaviour and saw the same. Note that it seems different with the latest version of firefox (not esr) on FreeBSD. I didn't see the same requests, but some others that seem suspect. I didn't have time to dig.
how did you capture those DNS requests? tcpdump?
are you sure it was from firefox and not some other process?
where did you capture? in the system or router? could it be some other device connected to same router?

Please read: https://www.stamus-networks.com/selks-archive.
The source ip of the these requests is the one of the SELKS machine.

I know it's firefox because I have these requests only when it runs. I tried again some days ago: same results.

I can't cease to be amazed at how fast Firefox works on my relatively old hardware - I have i7-4700MQ (Haswell quad-core from 2013). I can't stop wondering how lightning fast it'll work on today's or more recent hardware. I mean just RAM is going to be several times faster, right?

If anyone cares to/wants to/is nice enough/has considerable altruistic pangs/feels somewhat charitable and wants to donate some newer hardware for me to test how much faster Firefox works compared to my 13 year old hardware, I would really appreciate it. We can have a GoFund me campaign maybe to allow me to experience nirvana? I constantly see people here just have hardware laying around.... 🥹
