arabic and non-english text is broken for me

same as title

sadly text is broken for me in browser and system apps as well for anything non english

i tried to change locale and font but no luck

Sorry, but this is a bit too vague to give any useful answer.
What did you do as the latest change at your system (an update I presume), what version you're running freebsd-version -kru ? What Desktop Environment? With "system" you mean your terminal?

sorry for this vague post , a mistake from my side

DE is kde

lastest change i did on my system is to remove fedora


freebsd-version

15.1-RELEASE

system here i mean all other apps as well are broken
 
Are you setting the locale in login.conf? Have you run cap_mkdb /etc/login.conf afterwards?
Is your locale using the UTF8 encoding?
Which font are you using for your desktop environment? Does it have Arabic characters?

yes i am using UTF8 , and i use noto sans as font , after reboot it fixed without anything from me , i do not have explanation for this

yes also tried to re-install system to get explanation (the idea of restart and it works now is does not sound for me and it seems that i installed fonts and forgot that)


what happened that i need to install arabic fonts

sudo pkg install noto-sans-arabic noto-sans-arabic-ui noto-naskh-arabic noto-naskh-arabic-ui

i do not know why , because i did not need this before , it just works out of the box so i do not know why i need it now but it works!
