Yes, a plain install takes me 6 minutes. I timed it once. Gui installers have their place I guess, but the TUI (or is it curses?) FreeBSD install is fine for me.
I just wanted to hand out some flowers. I just completed my first in many years fresh install with 15.1-RELEASE. It was super easy. I'll throw in that this install was a dual boot along side a Windows 10 install on a laptop. No problems...
For what it's worth, for me, Waterfox with ublock orig makes youtube fine, I don't see ads. I've not used brave for awhile, I don't remember why I stopped.
I was able to replicate this in my VM with fresh 15.0 and musescore-4.7.3. While I was getting this error in gdb session lldb one actually opened the UI. Given the amount of threads it opened maybe a race issue. Probably not the way you want to...
There surely is an xray of the picture. In that, you would see any paint-over actions, which is an indicator of being authentic. If you see a newly discovered Rembrand and it has been painted in one sitting, no corrections, you should keep your...
Nope, the same output that I get on the console.

Yes I get the same message and crash, on FreeBSD 15.1. I haven't used MuseScore for a while so didn't notice. There was a version change from 4.6.5 to 4.7.3 in June - maybe try the older version?

I'm stuck on 13.x because of this: https://cgit.freebsd.org/src/commit/?id=60de2867c9fc and this https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/mpd5-vpn-server-clients-cannot-access-servers-lan-usr-sbin-arp-returned-256.94795/
I asked my colleague who is using Hetzner as part of their business infrastructure (DR in Azure). They rent physical HW (ESX, Linux). KVM can be requested, in contract they have few hours for TTR (time to respond) but usually do that in few...
First of all this was covacat's idea:
so if you want to quote somebody with childish reaction quote the original poster. However I do agree with him.
If you want to cut your fingers, do. Here: ✂️.
If you've followed the thread with...
Recently acquired a G3 iMac in absolute mint condition. It was in a little "museum" at $DAYJOB. They're clearing out because we'll be moving to a different location some time soon. If I had said no, it would have ended up on a landfill, couldn't...
Just going to add to this thread, because I think it's worth mentioning somewhere :). I've mentioned that my issue with dwl, NapoleonWils0n 's favored Wayland window manager, and, I think the subject of many of his videos, was that it didn't...
Hrrm. I see there is youtube-downloader as well as a gtk and py version, but I imagine that as I do stuff with multi media (nothing too exciting, stupid things like putting silly audio to an anime, like having a detective Conan character say...
pkg install yt-dlp takes 124 dependencies and results in my firefox not starting anymore because libxul is missing. The package doesn't seem to exist anymore.
This is not what I'm looking for. If I "pkg install firefox", it works fine but I want...
Ah, stupid.
I have /etc/rc.conf::linux_mounts_enable="YES", but for some reason it didn't take effect. I needed linprocfs for /proc/self/maps
It now works in the Linuxulator.
Hello all, MuseScore crashes during start. It just prints the advertising image, then crash. The last log message mentions a missing file. I can't figure which one.
There is also mention of missing /dev/snd/seq , but these seq do not exist on...
I finally have it running, too, after I switched to a ZFS-equipped FreeBSD install. The NFS/PXE one wouldn't retrieve things correctly when building the container.
Now on to the question of what makes it work in podman that Linuxulator does not...
There are multiple and old Xorg.log -files in /var/log. In 14.5-RELEASE -log is the only one printing modeset(G0): drmSetMaster failed: Device busy . For example 14.5-RC1 does not have this error. This could be a ghost hunt if the line frequently...
Yes, I finally did it! I'm so happy. (I had tried ghosbsd before, but the latest version didn't work.

I can see the Wi-Fi but it's not connecting. I need help with this.

I would advise you to stop asking questions now and just proceed.
As others have suggested, write a program in some language that prints "Hello, world!". Until you can do that you're only talking about programming and not doing.
Forget about...
Computers are very simple. They can only do a small number of real operations. Add numbers together. Store a value in memory. Read a value from memory. Perform conditional tests and change program flow depending on the result. The trick is...
Short:
Pick one of the languages: C, Perl, or Python (My personal recommendations; others may tell you other things. I would not say, they are wrong, neither they are right. You pick!)
Write a "Hello World!" prog in it.
Long:
Start to learn...
Wayland compositors and Xorg are more similar than you may think.
Check out the Xorg drm driver and the e.g. wlroots drm 'backend'. The code is almost identical.
X11 is old but I am becoming increasingly convinced it will outlive Wayland. For...
