That's likely DHCP trying to get an IP address. The fact you actually see activity probably means the issue is somewhere else. Dodgy ethernet cable? Dodgy switch? How about a tcpdump on your DHCP server and see if you can detect the DHCP requests?
I have two ThinkPad X61's which work fine most of the time, but one of the has suddenly started having problems with network connectivity.
Is there anything I can use to use to see if the NIC is working properly?
The LEDs don't flash regularly...
I tried to get this to work but couldn't produce a bootable device. Maybe I didn't stumble on the correct options.
It compiles OK. I only need to install standard FreeBSD pkgs gmake and gettext-tools and run gmake.
Problem is I get so many...
I can report that Orange Pi 5 Plus and NanoPi R6C work with FreeBSD 14,15,16.
Both boards have HDMI output functioning.
They require the EDK2 instead of the normal u-boot.

Regarding etcupdate, basically I follow the recommendation in UPDATING:

To rebuild everything and install it on the current system.

I was chasing down the same path and found the above snip helpful. After some thought, I believe I may go a different route (or attempt something different) but before I do, I wanted to share my minor modification to the above code snip...
That's a good question. I use the automount and networkmgr for the network tray icon. Last I tried dolphin wasn't working and filesystem specific guis are not ported to work with native filesystems.
It's all garbage anyway. No root account, bs apps instead of programs, enforced background processes and advertisements, all bloated with spy and tracking features as a result. It can't get much worse with obscure chips added.
I find the image search to be useful - it (usually) finds the right images, and also finds text within images.
Also copying text from images.
Does GPS/maps count as AI in your question?
But nothing absolutely compelling, just a few useful...
I figured out my issue with keybindings, I was using something already used. I actually find that it reminds me of spectrwm more than dwm. So, I probably don't have much use for it, (though I can start it with the dwl bar, and get my date on top)...
Does KDE at install-time mean out-the-box hookups for stuff like Partition Manager, plugging in exfat/NTFS/FAT32 drives and Dolphin viewing, tray wifi icon, and Android/mobile MTP in Dolphin?
Yeah (I use it with 2010 WoW)
I download the latest release tar.gz in a browser: https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases
Run this to move d3d9.dll to the Wine prefix:
rm -Rf '/tmp/dxvk-'* && tar -xvzf ~/'Downloads/dxvk-'*'.tar.gz' -C '/tmp'...
Hi all,
I know some of you here are keen on fvwm, so I thought I'd put this post out so you're aware.
For a while now, I've been looking at what fvwm might look like on Wayland. I started to implement this in wlroots but kept running into a...
I must check that out.....
Just now I noticed
Middleton_BIOS.rar
7luj27uc.iso
so I'll have to extract the RAR file. Haven't use one of those for a decade. I'm guessing there is a FreeBSD version of unrar...
There's a flaw with it. If finding problems in software using AI is proven effective, why does it still take time? They should find everything at once, considered the available computing capacity. A few days with a very deep search, maybe. The...
Strangely enough, on 15.0-RELEASE, I'm still seeing the same thing. When testing, blocks are happening immediately after 3 failed attempts when I test manually. However, each day my auth.log reports show things such as:

WoeUSB likely can be adapted for FreeBSD if it doesn't just-work (I've used it for years Linux; notes): https://github.com/WoeUSB/WoeUSB/releases/download/v5.2.4/woeusb-5.2.4.bash
I only skimmed through it, but saw a grub command and imagine...

https://github.com/aphor/FreeBSD15-RPi5-modules
Everything in this repo was written by claude code, with some heavy handed supervision from me, so don't believe any of the documentation (trust but verify), but the makefile should build the KLD...
Well, my guess was wrong. I put releng/14.4 sources on my Pi5, and built the modules (just a simple "make"). Then I loaded the bcm2712.ko module.
As soon as I had loaded it, the fan started spinning. I also loaded the rp5.ko module (this is the...
How exactly do I do this?
I can boot Hiren's BootCD.ison15.2 which I boot from Ventoy without problem but no idea what to do when starting Mini Wndows Xp.
