Certainly another vulnerability. I imagine a firmware update would have to be downloaded to another bank of memory or flash drive. Would be nuts to directly flash the RAM from the internet so likely the firmware is incorporated into the BIOS...
Hi!
I'm not sure if I can help you to 100% solve your issue, but here what I can tell:
As I see, cmus is a TUI player, which means it's designed to be controlled from the terminal. One can think of it as being similar to GUI program, like VLC...
x11/kde - trying to run both
FreeBSD Handbook reference
I’ve been testing a lot of components from base system development.
Looks like I am unable to scale my machine to match the specs on my monitor’s resolution.
I’m dumping drm and...
This sounds interesting and I would like to try it out for myself.
How did you do the installation? From a boot only iso on a USB stick?
And did you measure the time until the new system got to the login prompt?
I think that the more things a language does for the programmer, the worse the result is. FreeBSD is great because its programmers are great. If you deny programmers control, you'll end up with less efficient programs, and we already have Windows...
In my case, I don't use any software that works only on Windows, so I don't need to dual boot anymore (I still can, because I have Windows 11 and Siduction Linux also installed, but I just don't do it anymore). As for the autohotkey script that I...
I dual boot between FreeBSD 14.3 and Windows 2022, currently. For me, last 20+ years were dual booted BSD/NT main workstation.
There is (still) no reason to not run dual boot Windows if you are working on a real PC and not something slimmed down...
It's a hard disagree for me, in the real world context. AGI doesn't exist, we're not on "path to it" no more than we were in 2015, it is a hard science fiction thing. We're probably closer to breaking important ground rules of physics under...
For what it's woth, on snapshots of 16 CURRENT, at least the ones I've used, as recently as a few days ago, pkgbase was still being shown as Tech Preview. As to why, while I don't know the ins and outs, I think, (but my memory is going) that the...
I am using 15.0 with pkg base. I use my DE Gershwin that is based on GNUstep along with an objective C based window manager I am fixing up. GNUstep itself does not need a window manager but the X11 apps do so I am working on decorating X11 apps...
Which one has everything working, though? I have many Thinkpads and the best one (that does suspend and resume) still doesn't do all, the microphone doesn't work under FreeBSD.
Soon: RAM-as-a-service, with intelligent AI-enabled content customization. Your bits will never look the same again(tm). Only $99.95/month. Terms and conditions apply, certain squares and data should not be stored and retrieved.
Ah, that did the trick, tho I don't completely understand why. Is it because it was trying to pull latest and quaterly ports? I don't even remember installing ports when I first installed this system, as I am very tight in space (I needed them...
I can’t build rust on a 28 core system with 32gb ram without a lot of extra tuning. So it is frustrating when I go to update a port that requires it. I want nothing to do with rust because of that.

AI has boosted the price of DRAM by a factor of ten.
I have no need to buy more in the near term,
I’m building a PC for my grandson and am appalled at the cost of a modest 32gb of DDR5
I've known CDE for decades, I used it professionally on Solaris, HP-UX and Tru64. I stopped using it about 20 years ago but this forum helped me getting back to it.
What do I like about it? First of all it makes me feel a couple decades younger...
I'm not trying to answer for rbranco but CDE is probably a lot lighter on resource usage than other things like KDE/Gnome. XLibre is cleaning up Xorg and trying to move it to the next gen.
So combined, likely a little faster, little lighter...

yes - I recently updated from rev 2.5 to rev 2.6 - running some testing to see how much of a difference there is
So my understanding is there is an interrupt when the pulse hits the DCD pin, and interrupts as the FIFO fills up and is emptied...

Wait, did I miss something? I was under the impression that xlibre was now distributed as an official port and thus xlibre-ports was not necessary anymore.
So, as now I'm running xlibre from the ports repo, what should I do to get the new...

Depends, I like to configure everything to work with the TV's remote. That's what CEC is mostly used for. Automatically switching channels on my AVR for example. Very useful to be able to do.
