That toolchain is basically LLVM (and a single vendor until GNU's matures). A toolchain actually borrowed from C and C++ (Rust is effectively a third class citizen to 90% of its own stack)

What version of FreeBSD? mc-nox11 was deleted from port (moved to misc/mc) on 2024-01-15. /bin/sh fallback was introduced recently, perhaps that system is not upgraded and ports too.

I agree with vermaden drhowarddrfine and fmc000 simply because everytime I have to help my wife with a Windows thing I get pissed off. Why do I need to navigate through 37 different gui screens to find the IP address? Oh system update and now...
The only game I've played for the past 12 years: Kerbal Space Program. The successor was a dud, but there's another studio working on Kitten Space Agency and it looks like it's even better. I'm putting together a purpose-built PC just so I can...
FreeBSD would not be as good without this FreeBSD forum.
I don't think I would be as happy if just left to the OS itself and the docs.
Whilst the docs are great, I often think it is difficult to get by in the event of problems without the help...
I guess I'd better delete the pkg and associated files and start from scratch.
(some time later)
After reinstalling and running the startup script it works the way I want. Unfortunately I never notice the message shown during installation, but...
I saw a quote somewhere the other day (can't remember where) that stated something along the lines of 'Linux feels like it evolved, which is why it's such a mess. In contrast, FreeBSD feels like it was designed'.
You already changed your thread, I didn't quote it. You did mix it and said that qemu is accelerated by bhyve. Now you said:
Yes, and that's what you did say.
That's why I said:
In other words if qemu would leverage vmm it would be awesome...
Try 16-CURRENT, make sure to download the image with the newest release date : https://download.freebsd.org/snapshots/ISO-IMAGES/16.0/
Start the system in verbose mode and post the output if the problem persists (at the boot menu choose "7. Boot...
Yeah but he's right on the money! OSes should be out of the way as much as possible, therefore the least you need to acknowledge their existence the better.
Exactly. Now those same games are digital.
There you go. Have some colleagues at $DAYJOB I've been playing chess with too, we've even set up a smallish chess group. Chess is basically a turn-based strategy game. Maybe try X-com (also one of my...
Growing up, we used to play Strat-O-Matic baseball and football. Kind of like a pre-computer real statistics based game where the games were based on real players and their stats. You rolled the dice to see what the player would do on the field...
As far as I understood the pkg-message, you only run that script before the first time you start the service. Once this initial setup has been done, and you started the service, you should be able to change it from within webmin itself.
It's more like an interactive zombie movie. Infected and players are not the same. Infected are never friendly, they're down right dangerous, you'll want to avoid them, certainly at first. Players you meet may or may not be friendly, or act...
You could make your site less awkward to copy from it ;) I have to add some other bits (e.g. setting InternalHosts) as it was not signing emails coming from the webmail hosted on other box. But other than that, and few small bits, big thanks...
blackbird9 both waterfox and librewolf are available as FreeBSD package and port.

The OpenDKIM package in FreeBSD handles signing for multiple domains well, if you use the "Domain" option with a comma-separated list of your domains. I updated the page, listed above, with this part recently.
Domain foobar.com,foobaranother.com
I want to run this nested stack:
- Linux
- kvm/qemu
- FreeBSD
- bhyve
- FreeBSD
When starting bhyve inside the middle FreeBSD the kvm around it flips out:
KVM internal error. Suberror: 1

Hi gang,
What is mtree?
mtree is a utility included in the base system (/usr/sbin/mtree) and can be used to compare two directory structures thus allowing you to spot any kind of difference. By default it does this by comparing file size (in...
One more thing, is there shell script to set up the config?
I thought there was but haven't managed to locate it yet.
I wanted to change the userid and password that webmin uses with creating a new user.
I stopped the process and rebooted.
Everything seems to work OK.
I'll try to remember this if/when the same thing happens when I upgrade to 15.0 in a week or two.
I recently got interested into RenderDoc since it is a good frame debugging tool for single frames, and I need it to debug things like vertex explosions.
First of all I would like to get it to build with cmake.
Most of the errors were luckily...
Is the port number :1000 a typo in your post or the real value. By default, Webmin listens on port 10000, unless configured otherwise.

As trivial as it may sound, is there a way to list all periodic enabled tasks for a group (e.g., daily) without having to parse/grep and merge configuration files?
You are mixing things here ZioMario. bhyve ≠ vmm.
If somebody created code in qemu that can leverage vmm and have full support of FreeBSD dev team, that would be awesome. But since all hands are focused on inhouse product of bhyve I would not...
According to https://docs.freebsd.org/en/books/handbook/cutting-edge/
the last stage freebsd-update install process after a reboot is to run freebsd-update install, when I do this I'm told
this stays on the screen, nothing else happens, even...
