ZFS ZFS recovery

I have come across a few of these tools like Klennet ZFS recovery, ZFS recovery by Reclaime pro & UFS Explorer RAID recovery. However they all seam to be Windows based & you have to attach the drives to the windows system for recovery. Some have test downloads if you ant to give them a try. If i remember correctly they let you recover 2mb in a test. At least the test would show you possible recoverable data.

I have never explored ZFS recovery since it seems the focus is on prevention. I would be mildly interested in recovery though provided there are open source or freely available tools for that. I suppose my use case would be a bit different. All of my drives are encrypted, if I am experiencing a hardware failure, I would imagine I might have issues decrypting the drive first. If I cannot decrypt the drive, then I would imagine ZFS recovery would also fail?

Actually UFS Explorer RAID Recovery is for Windows, Mac 10.15 & Linux.
Just wanted suggest a minor correction: the mention software currently also can run natively on FreeBSD (shares the same license as for Linux). The binaries are available on the "Downloads" section of UFS Explorer web site.
