ZFS ZFS nested datasets - backup?

Greetings all,

I have moved my /home/username from an OS hard-drive onto a dataset created on a mirrored pool Then I created a folder /home/username/Maildir and another dataset on the mirrored pool/Maildir, and mounted it on the /home/username/Maildir, the idea being that I can backup the pool/Maildir,.

However, now I am wondering if I backup the mirrored pool/home/username, as I understand it it will also backup the pool/Maildir

Is this correct? If so, ho do I associate the pool/Maildir, with the username and allow it to be backed-up separately form the pool/home/username?
