I've been having a hell of a time trying to get X and OpenBox to work properly on this system, so I have come here for assistance. I have experience setting up FreeBSD desktops, but not since the change to Xorg 1.14 that just came around. Most of my other desktops are still using the older Xorg servers with hald, but I relished this moment after I got this laptop that I didn't need hald, or dbus for a minimal desktop.
I am running FreeBSD 10.1-RELEASE on this laptop.
After getting the system set up as I desired from the vt console, I proceeded to install x11-servers/xorg-server, x11/xinit, and x11-wm/openbox from pkgng.
