Xorg page fault after BIOS update

I updated the BIOS on my machine (ThinkPad P16 Gen 2). After this, attempting to start X (using startx) gives a 'Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode' and reboots the system. I attach an image of the crash message; I am sorry about the poor quality, I had to take a photo of the screen.

I am on FreeBSD 14-STABLE, using latest nvidia-driver from ports, and the GPU is an Nvidia RTX 3500 Ada Generation. Everything worked fine before the BIOS update. I have tried reinstalling nvidia-driver and Xorg from ports to no avail.

I would be very grateful if someone knows what is going on or how to troubleshoot this further. Thank you.

After you updated the BIOS did you also reload the default settings of the BIOS?
