XFCE4: single click

Hi,

I am using xfce4 for my desktop. I tried a various ways to use a single click for openning icons on my desktop but fail. My box is

 FreeBSD MNIHKLOM.xxx.in.th 9.0-STABLE FreeBSD 9.0-STABLE #18: Wed Jun 27 12:38:20 ICT 2012     root@xxx.in.th:/kaitag/obj/usr/src/sys/MNIHKLOM  amd64

also xfce packages installed are

Bring up the xfce menu. Go to Settings/Desktop/Icons and check "Single click to activate items". Tested, works here.
