Xfce Xfce 4.19

Hi. I would love to try Xfce 4.19, the development branch. Does anyone have a patched ports tree ready? I tried to do it myself, but my skills are extremely insufficient for this.

Trying out a development branch without any idea how to compile it, much less how to fix bugs in it, doesn't sound like a very good idea.

The XFCE port is actually quite extensive, but XFCE itself is pretty easy to port and update.

Install a poudriere, create a local dev branch and try things out until you can compile it, if you can do that, you can try it out and learn enough to fix any issues you might encounter. Otherwise, it's best not to try it.

Well, I can compile each of the Xfce packages. If I do this outside of the ports, I'll end up with a natural mess, which I don't want.

The problem is that I know very little about the Makefiles, and I don't have time to dive into that at this point in my life. But I'm already familiar with poudriere.

For example, in order to try 4.19, I would need to create a port for the new libxfce4windowing package. I think doing it right is not as easy as you say, at least for a porter newbie.

I just assumed that someone might have done that already.

Segnalo che è stata pubblicata la roadmap per la 4.20:

Edit: Thanks to anyone that translated my post to English, I'm getting older unfortunately and these momentary lapses of reason are more frequent every day.
