Solved x.org broken?

Hi,

Yesterday (2020-04-06) I updated all software on my FreeBSD 12.1-RELEASE r354233 GENERIC amd64 box, but something seems wrong with x11/xorg or its config files, haven't found out yet.

Anyone having similar problems?

The tty console and sysutils/screen just run as intended.

Trying to fire up x11/xorg and x11-wm/cwm my machine didn't react correctly to keyboard input. When I fired up x11/xterm 'by accident' I noticed that pressing a key gave a very strange output in the terminal window. After a necessary reboot to get keyboard control back, I tried x11-wm/openbox and the problems were the same. Getting to another tty console isn't possible because the GUI doesn't give the proper keystrokes.

Does anyone have a hint on what happened and where to look for a solution?

Solved - New Xorg switch from devd to udev

I saw in the UPDATE file that udev is the new default for Xorg. However, when I upgraded the port (from source) the configuration window showed devd as the selected item, so I thought I was safe. After rebooting into Slim, I have no control over the keyboard or mouse. What should I do next?
