Solved window manager freezes after new shell install

I installed zsh, then I changed default shell with chsh command as user and root. the new shell is indeed loaded by default after reboot, but right after I do "startx" I load into awesomewm, however; it is frozen.

there is nothing else it seems regarding the changes needed after isntallation of zsh, or am I missing something?

I do not have other wms around, but what happened is, I tried installing zsh, and then as usual reboot and re-login and start my awesomewm, and saw it did this.

then I tried reverting back to /bin/sh and process was ok, however; I still couldnt start awesomewm anymore. upon startx it starts but just freezes and I can only do hard reset of PC

ok..some weird thing happened, and after upgrading xorg package the problem is gone.

basically I did:
pkg upgrade
pkg install xorg

and then I switched shell, and awesomewm also launches fine.

btw system was 12.2 so i guess something was going on there on xorg side which got fixed after update. solved.
