What is kernel{if_io_tqg}? 100% load of core

Please tell me, what is processes kernel{if_io_tqg_?}, on my server they load core on 100%.

I'm not entirely sure but it appears to be related to a task queue for interfaces (part of iflib(4)). What (network) interfaces does the machine have? And do you have a lot of network traffic?
 
Hi,
I have a similar issue on one of our internet serving Freebsd router. Periodically the router is throttling a traffic from 1Gb/s to 100Mb/s without any obvious reason.

kernel{if_io_tqg_?} are going to almost 100% load in top.
The system has ipfw and pf enabled.
uname -a:
FreeBSD 12.2-RELEASE-p9 FreeBSD 12.2-RELEASE-p9 GENERIC amd64

Where to look to diagnose the problem?
Please help.
 
Use one or the other, not both.
One is doing shaping and the other is doing NAT. It's a historical desicion and can't be changed easily.

We have two other routers and they work just fine even with bigger loads.

The problem with enabling two firewalls is that their operation is undefined. So it may work or it may not, there's zero consistency.

This setup is working almost 8 years now and we had no problems with this combination. And I never have heard about undefined operation of IPFW and PF.
