I use closed-source-nvidia driver from nvidia website,
NVIDIA-FreeBSD-x86_64-525.78.01.tar.xz
I cannot start wayland...
Error socket not allowed...
xorg-x11 works fine.

I think different WM use different engine, like PCB or something.
Try sway or another WM

I think you should use the drivers from the ports because they do have the missing bits that makes the soup tasty.
