Volume setting through "vol" channel doesn't work but the "pcm"

Hey there!

My MATE sound slider doesn't work because it sets the sound level of the "vol" channel. However, when I set the volume of the "pcm" channel manually using "mixer", I can change the volume.

I also want to mention that if I volume down to zero using "vol" channel, it mutes the volume.

What sound chip do you have? I found out that this problem only exists for me on a machine with an Realtek ALC861 chip.
