Voice dictation

Hello guys, do you have any suggestion about an open source voice dictation solution? The best web browser extension I found is Voice In but it currently works only in Google Chrome and it is not available for Firefox.

I see preferences such as media.webspeech.recognition.enable … bug 1743903 (RESOLVED INVALID in 2021) makes me wonder whether enabling such things will be useful. On the other hand MDN documentation for Using the Web Speech API was modified in July 2024

Four days ago, someone asked: _Are there any alternatives to the SpeechRecognition API?_ … no answer there.

audio/julius is an open source high-performance large vocabulary continuous speech recognition (LVCSR) decoder software for speech-related researchers and developers. Probably not what you want as a potential end user. The name is vaguely familiar.

I have not used FreshPorts itself to seek anything.
