bhyve vCPUs during Windows installation on bhyve

I came across this line on the wiki for Windows on bhyve, which I apparently forgot somewhere along the way...

From https://wiki.freebsd.org/bhyve/Windows:
Only one or two VCPUs should be used during installation but this number can be increased once Windows is installed.

Can somebody clarify the reason for this, and what the the failure mode looks like--what can occur if this rule is not followed?

How does changing the vCPUs affect Windows activation on systems that are activated?
I assume these be values should be changed prior to activation, but if Windows is already activated, is there a way to go back to fix whatever problem could be caused by not following this recommendation?

Thanks

I can't say for sure but I seem to recall that all of my bhyve Windows 10 / Windows 11 installations did not follow this "recommendation". I installed Windows guests with anywhere between 4 and 32 vCPUs without any issues.

I'd indeed be more worried about changing the number of vCPUs after activation.
