I kept facing the error '/var/run/xdg/<user> isn't owned by 1001:1001' every time I wanted to log in to my user. This error started appearing after a kernel panic when launching KDE through Wayland on sddm.
My "solution" was to login as root, and run 'rm -rf /var/run/xdg/<user>'. I am able to log in again but I worry I might have done more harm than good since I in full honesty wasn't too sure of what I was doing. In hindsight I should have probably attempted to change the permissions before deleting the whole thing..
Should I still be fine though, after deleting it?
