Solved Using a UK laptop in US

Should I expect to be able use a UK laptop in the US given that different voltages are in operation in both countries?

Any advice appreciated.

Laptop power supplies pretty much always accept all these voltages. So you only need a mechanical adapter.

You need to read what is written on Your device (and only You can do that).
There is a voltage rating written there. On mine is (among a vast amount of chinese letters) this: INPUT: 100-240V~ 1.7A 50-60Hz
But You have to check on Your own device.

Mine has INPUT: 100-240V~ 1.8A 50-60Hz

so that should be OK.
