Users and Groups / Users Settings says "account is disabled"

First of all, thank you FreeBSD and Gnome teams for a great workstation! After a few years with FreeBSD and now one year with Gnome Desktop, I am really happy and getting the hang of things. :h So everything is working great. I have just two questions...

When I take a look at System > Administration > Users and Groups, I see the attached image (cropped for fitment) and I am just wondering: 1) what is the significance of the message 'this account is disabled'; and 2) what happens if I indeed 'Enable Account'? My account is the only one listed and is the only one on the system, besides root of course.

Everything is working fine so I am loathe to try it and will use command-line tools like pw and passwd to manage users and groups, assuming that is how it is done (the only user add/modify I ever did was with sysinstall and system build time).

Thanks!
