Unlocking a phone.

I bought a second hand SAMSUNG S5 Neo several years ago and have been using it as my standby phone for a few years with a UK Sim card without any problem.

At the moment I'm in Poland and bought myself a Polish SIM card from Orange and it tells me:-

invalid SIM card
Network locked SIM card inserted

Any advice? Is it just because I am using an Orange SIM or would it be the same for any Polish SIM?

Very interesting question. I know there exists "hardware locks", but normally by law they cant, but they do.
It seems the sim card is "locked" to a certain GSM operator. Best is go to sim card vendor tell your problem.
