Uncut /usr/ports/UPDATING

I am updating from 12 to 14 (as it occurred, inevitably via 13), and I see /usr/ports/UPDATING is cut now. For example, there's mentioning of 20190420, but it starts now only from 2021. Where can I get longer version of this file with older information?

I noticed that too. My install medium FreeBSD-14.0-RELEASE-amd64-memstick.img contains a version that goes back to october 2018. It's in /usr/freebsd-dist/ports.txz.

I noticed this too, and some useful information like how to safely upgrade e.g. perl simply had the references removed rather than incorporating & updating the relevant information. I recovered the old file from a snapshot but I'm left wondering why it was considered to be an improvement to not only remove guidelines that are still helpful but to make it look as if they were never there.

As far as I can see, somehow the trim was approved, but it is bluntly formal to the date of release end of life.
I've put
PR 276495 in bugs, although.
