Hi

Yesterday, I updated my Server which run FreeBSD 12.2 from P7 to P8. The upgrade was successful, however neofetch and uname shows different patch nos.

Neofetch
Code:
OS: FreeBSD 12.2-RELEASE-p8 amd64

Code:
uname -mrs
FreeBSD 12.2-RELEASE-p7 amd64

Is this an error or is it normal behaviour?

Would appreciate some insight on the same.

Thanks.

Uname is showing kernel version and neofetch userland, sometimes one or the other doesn't need to be patched and versions differ, try freebsd-version -uk

For example, right now the output of neofetch and uname on FreeBSD 13:

The last security update wasn't a kernel issue, so the kernel wasn't updated and it will still show an older version. Use freebsd-version -u.
