Two Ideas For The Financial Empowerment Of FreeBSD

Hello,

I had two modest ideas that could potentially accrue some revenue for the FreeBSD organisation, besides allowing the option of donation.
You may know of Amazon KDP. Its any easy -to-use self-publishing platform created by Amazon. It allows one to publish both paperbacks and eBooks, with hardcover options being in a somewhat limited experimental/developmental phase at the moment. The manuscripts can be updated at any time, and will be available world-wide.
Like myself, many prefer to read bigger quantities of text in physical format rather than from a screen, and I thought it a waste that FreeBSD.org hasn't self-published its manual. The KDP-approach will easily allow you to update the manual, when necessary. This gives users the option to either read the manual online for free, or purchase the manual for a physical copy. This will create additional income for FreeBSD.org.

The second idea I had is about, well, the issue of whether or not your hardware is going to be compatible with FreeBSD or not. Many seem to take a bit of a gamble in that regard, and may be very much a determining factor if whether or not they will end up as permanent FreeBSD users.
Why would FreeBSD.org not sell its own desktops and laptops that it has verified to be fully functional with FreeBSD (with a nice, clean FreeBSD installation installed). You could categorise these systems, such as gaming, desktop, multimedia, server, etc.

Just my humble suggestion.

Your friend,
