Solved Trying to port dos2unix

Hello I recently started using FreeBSD. I could not find Dos2Unix in the pkg repository, so thought of porting it.

I am new to compiling software from source, new to using forums and have little programming experience, so please bear with me. Most of my queries were solved with a web search, which were already reported and solved, so never really had to post anything.

First, I am trying to get Dos2Unix build on FreeBSD 10.1, but running into build issues.
I have attached the message of make check.

I contacted the author and I am quoting the email conversation here:

The problem is that your system does not support the Chinese
zh_CN.gp18030 locale. The solution is to disable the gb18030 tests in
test/Makefile. I have a patch for that:

I don't want to disable anything, would like to install the required packages.
How do I proceed?

I could start with some other package.

I was looking for unix2dos on OpenWrt but can't locate it, so wondered if I could build the one in ports on OpenWrt...

I know there are scripts around which will do linefeed conversion but it's easier to use dos2unix.
