Solved Trying to open or run an iso file

I downloaded an encyclopedia iso file from archive.org.
Mounting the iso with
Code:
mount -t cd9660 filenameDVD.iso /media/iso
gives
Code:
mount_cd9660: filenameDVD.iso: Block device required
and iso fails to mount to see its contents or maybe run the DVD menu (if that would be possible).
Any ideas how to? Thanks.

mdconfig -a -t vnode -f filenameDVD.iso
# Assuming the above command created a md0:
mount -t cd9660 /dev/md0 /media/iso

When you're done
umount /media/iso
mdconfig -d -u 0 # Again, assuming it created an md0

Since you mentioned menu, the advice from SirDice is applicable to basically all DVDs, however if it's a video DVD, you can use VLC to see the menus. Which can be rather handy if you're just trying to avoid swapping discs from your own library.
