So i have a Chromebook Hp x360 14c which runs linux and freebsd very well. I'm trying to get my microphone working but its a hassel and i've been getting a little bit of help here and there with nothing working. here is my setup

I have a ps4 headset that is a mic also. I plug the headset into the dongle and the headphones work great. I try to use the microphone and everything is silent
I've tried to use zoom test call for microphone, mictest.com and audacity and nothing.
I've tried mictest.com and which i switch the mic from no sound to sound it registers but i can't hear anything. any ideas on what to do next ?
On irc they said that since the headset works on a ps4 it could be something else. I haven't enabled the snd_hda driver since it's usb device
