UFS Trim enabled on disk image?

I have been using Poudriere Image and one thing that struck me is that TRIM is not enabled on UFS disk images.
So when you dd an image to a target you must manually enable TRIM. No big deal.

I have built images with TRIM enabled so what is the protocol here? Trim Enabled on Disk Image or Not?
 
I see no real danger in enabling TRIM on a disk image. It will simply dmesg error out if it finds a non-TRIM device.
Does that sound right? Images should be created with TRIM enabled especially if being applied to SSD devices.
