Is your X1C touchscreen model ? If yes - i think its oout of the box or Xorg drivers ( as i instaleld the whole Xorg thing ) .. just one thing i could not get working it was screen flip once in tablet mode.

As i mentioned, try to check with xorg, i did this a while ago and dont have my X1Y anymore so i am not able to check and give you 100% correct answer.
it might be libinput or evdev but if i recal - most of thigs are good with libinput and most of the time i used libinput as it works with wayland even if i disable touchpad in bios - it still works and have to disable trough libinput ( i might think lib input and os does not care about touchpad bios settings but i might be very very wrong )
