The Artsy and Aesthetically-Pleasing Videos Thread

This thread violates Rule #3, IMO.

I apologize... as OP, and as one of the principal contributors to the thread, I admit I didn't consider FreeBSD Forums Rule #3 when I started it.

In consideration of the thread's possible perceived vulgarity, I've replaced all occurrences of "artsy-fartsy" with "artsy" wherever possible, including its occurrence in the thread title.

In consideration of any perception of the thread's sexual nature (or "sexual-orientation," as explicitly stated in the Forums Rules), I've removed the word "Erotic" from the thread title. (Please note that the perception of the word "erotic" was already covered in my opening post. The primary intention of this thread is its artistic appreciation, and not the appreciation of any of its coincidental erotic content.)

If any particular video offends any particular Forum member (or members), please send me a private, personal message (i.e., a PM, or Conversation message), and I'll do what I can to remove that video. If the video is mine, I'll delete it or the post which contains it. If the video is another member's, I'll PM that member, or, if necessary, one of the moderators, and ask them to delete it, or to delete the entire art thread itself, if they should decide that is the best course of action.

If you prefer, you can PM the moderator or moderators directly, and ask them to censor the thread for you.

If the nature of art films, or videos, offends you, or any other member, you have the option of avoiding this thread's content by simply not clicking (or tapping) on the thread title.

(Edited for clarity)

I saw all mentioned films, some together with my parents and I never heard about vulgarity for example in them. About many directors we also learned when I was in gymnasium.

My mom saw many of the films I posted, and more. My dad didn't care much for films, but preferred books. I try to mix it up, read some books, and see some films. My aunt, who was my dad's sister, absolutely loved watching movies. She and my mom were war brides, and went to many movies together, before and after the war, when they were living together in Springfield, Illinois. Mom and Aunt Pat also read books, many of which were about Hollywood movie stars.

The moderator(s) seem to think there was nothing wrong with this thread to begin with or the specific videos with partial nudity and the discussion surrounding it is sexually oriented in nature (I don't care to argue this point if they don't agree, since the comments were mocking in tone), but that's probably because they are all male and think this is normal. "Coincidental" is not the word I would use to categorize the resulting posts in this thread due to stereotypically male population on computers forums. It seems to not matter because the people in charge to not agree with me so you can continue on and I'll attempt to ignore it.

Anyway, thank you for changing the title at least, as that is the most helpful since it shows up in the new threads list constantly. It's much easier to skim over.

This scene is from Genesis of the Daleks, perhaps the best Dr Who series every produced. In this scene we see Davros, the greatest scientist of the planet Skaro, exterminated by his creation, the Daleks. This was long before the first Terminator movie.

We can't say we weren't warned.

Fantastic performance by Michael Wisher in the role of Davros.

Interesting how are those films marked as "taboo" but the majority from Hollywood production with violence, murders and I do not know what more are acceptable in the theaters and on TV.

Violence is terribly popular in mass-market films, television, and in entertainment and news media in general. To me, violence and murder are much more pornographic than sex.

IMO, not really, as this is easily explained by film history. Regardless of what that business thinks is taboo, the forum rules would (or in this case, apparently do not) apply here.

91% violence (TV movies only):

1.21% sex (all films/IMDB database):

Wim Wenders: Paris, Texas
Akiro Kurosawa: Dersu Uzala
Monty Pythons: The meaning of life
