Solved Text-mode menus not showing properly

Hello,

I've been running FreeBSD13 as a guest in virtualbox for a while, and I've always had this weird problem,
where the blue menus for make config look like crap, it's actually annoying because I can't see if
an option is ticked or not.
I tried searching on my own, but I'm not even sure what those text-mode menu things are called.

We're not supposed to ask questions about CURRENT here, as it changes so quickly, answers given may be out of date the next day. The best place to ask is on the CURRENT mailing list. (FreeBSD-13 is considered CURRENT) If the problem remains when running FreeBSD-12.1 it's considered acceptable for the forum.

Also, there is the possibility that it's a VirtualBox problem. It's possible that asking on their forums might get an answer.
Other things to consider (and info to give if you ask on mailing list or VBox forums). Are you running X? Or is this a completely text based install?

The border of the box reminds me of what a VT100 console looks like.
Any chance you are installing this port in a headless mode (serial console) or over ssh ?

Hello, thanks for your time and the suggestions.
After trying many things, I fixed it by rebuilding dialog4ports.
