I just updated my stable-11 base system to r316732 and now when i type startx my system immediately reboots instead of launching my desktop environment xfce. There is an error message displayed on the screen but it disappears too fast for me to see what it says.
Before updating the base to r316732 my Xorg was working correctly with the nvidia-driver: nvidia-driver-375.39.
Typing startx with the nvidia-driver causes the aforementioned reboot/panic. Switching to the vesa driver doesn't cause a reboot/panic but it is obviously sub-optimal as I only get a screen resolution of 1024x768. I'd like to figure out how to fix this issue as this is my main workstation. I have attached the Xorg.log and it shows config/devd: devd socket is lost.
41.186] (--) NVIDIA(GPU-0):
[ 3535.822] (WW) config/devd: devd socket is lost
[ 3535.823] (EE) config/devd: fail to connect to devd
[ 3535.942] (II) config/devd: terminating backend...
[ 3535.942] (II) UnloadModule: "mouse"
[ 3535.942] (II) UnloadModule: "kbd"
[ 3536.804] (II) NVIDIA(GPU-0): Deleting GPU-0
[ 3536.805] (II) Server terminated successfully (0). Closing log file.
Any help to resolve this issue is welcome.
